Privacy and Security for Public-Link Download Tools

Recognize safe browser behavior, protect credentials, and avoid deceptive download prompts.

A Public-Link Tool Should Not Need Your Password

Normal Zaptok use begins with a publicly accessible share URL. It does not require a TikTok username, password, one-time code, session cookie, or Zaptok account. A prompt asking for those details is a warning sign. Leave the page and verify that the address bar shows the official zaptok.app domain over HTTPS.

Understand What a Link Can Reveal

Even a public URL can identify an account, creator, post, or topic. Do not submit links that expose another person's sensitive circumstances or that you obtained from a private space. Avoid pasting extra text, tracking parameters, or personal notes with the URL. Review the Privacy Policy for the categories of technical information involved in operating and protecting the service.

Treat Unexpected Files Carefully

A requested video should not arrive as an executable program or browser extension. Check the filename and extension before opening it. Keep the operating system, browser, and security software current. If a result differs from the selected media type, delete it and report the behavior rather than trying to run or rename it.

Avoid Deceptive Prompts

Do not approve notification spam, install a download manager, pay an unrelated fee, or weaken system security because a page claims those steps are required. Browser download permission is different from permission to install software. Zaptok's supported workflow stays in the browser. Ads, when enabled, must remain distinguishable from navigation and download controls.

Use Shared Devices Deliberately

On a shared computer, review the browser download list, remove files you are not authorized to leave behind, and sign out of unrelated accounts. Do not use private browsing as a substitute for permission or security; it mainly limits local history. For sensitive professional work, use an approved device, storage location, and retention policy rather than a general-purpose public downloader.
